Vintage Inspiration

I love these! I'm going to have to pull out my vintage patterns & whip up a few of these.

Finished McCalls' 5555

Finished this shift dress. Came out ok, but about a size or 2 too big for me. So, if anyone makes this, go down at LEAST one size.
I made the belt a little different, I wanted a wider version.
If I make this again (which I doubt), I will use a thinner fabric than the knit I used. Also, the neck is quite a bit high for me. I think I may move on to another pattern, since there are soo many cute ones out there. This one made me miss my BURDA WOF projects, since the fit is soo good w/ BURDA, & so-so w/ the big 4.

Another Simplicity 4076 Top

Have a meeting tomorrow & will wear this. It can be both dressy & casual. Another wardrobe building piece.

This one sewed up in NO time since I already sewed the other one earlier this week. Will probably sew one in a solid.

Simplicity 4076 top

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I needed a quick fix since my last sewing project took awhile (i learned the lettuce stitch). MANY people have raved about this, and I tried the pattern a while back & made the twist version. This one is cuter & REALLY fast & easy to sew up.

Only change I made was to not hem, & did lettuce stitch on sleeves & bottom. If I make again (which I will since this is my new TNT pattern) I will add 2-3" to the bottom if I hem. Next one I make will be in a solid, although this print is a bit funky & I like it.

"New" Used Huskylock 535D Serger

My Uncle picked this up at a garage sale for me.
What a pain to thread, even w/ the manual.
I may need to get it serviced, since it's not working correctly.

JJ's Fabric in LA Garment District

sweater knits
blk w/ green accent, blk/wht lander/purple heather

jersey knits
grey/blk, brown/tourquoise, blk/wht, grey/blk, blue/tourquoise/gold, blk/blue/wht/fushia, green/bluebrown/fushia

All of these were $1-2 per yard. Love a deal.

Misc. fabric she gave me at 75 cents a yard. maybe a sweater-coat?
fushia/wht bucle

I haven't bought any fabric for awhile, so I think I was due. Although my fabric stash is quite big. But, I've been chipping away at the stash making stuff from my favorite new pattern magazine Burda World of Fashion (BWOF).
